Back to School! North Kansas City School Classes were all back in session August 18, 2008. Now that school has started back, we are starting back our preschool classes too! Many of your children will advance to the next classroom to begin a great year of fun and learning. Make sure to ask your child were their new cubby and coat hooks are so that you know where their personal items are; they really love to show off their new space! Don't forget to be safe when you are out driving. Watch out for children walking to and from school and always stop for buses that are loading and unloading children. |

| Fruit Pizza A fun and Easy Recipe to make with your child! You can add or remove ingredients to make it a pizza your family will love. This recipe is for the picture perfect pizza but you can have your child help and it will taste just as yummy and look even better! Parents chop up all the fruits, berries, and nuts beforehand and let your child decorate the pizza. Makes 6 servings 1 roll of sugar cookie dough 2 - 8 oz fat free cream cheese ¼ cup honey 1 tsp vanilla ½ cup golden raisins ¼ cup chopped pistachios 1 cup strawberries, sliced 1 cup blueberries 1 peach, sliced 1 cup Pineapple chunks Spread sugar cookie dough along the bottom of a pizza pan. Bake according to package directions (may need to lower the cooking time since the sugar cookie will be spread thinly). Remove from oven and cool. Beat together the cream cheese, honey and vanilla until smooth. Spread the cheese mixture atop the cooled crust. Arrange strawberries, pineapple, and peaches on top, slightly overlapping. Sprinkle with blueberries, golden raisins, and pistachios. Chill 1 hour before serving. |

\ Clothing We ask that our families provide a spare outfit for their child if the are 5 years old and younger. Accidents happen and many times we have to change a child's clothing during the day. IF we do not have a spare outfit we try to find something in our extra clothing cabinet. Please help us because our extra clothing cabinet is EMPTY. Please return any Creative Kids clothing that you may have at home so that we can restock our cabinet. Please send an extra seasonally appropriate outfit to remain at the center for your child. Donate a few items to the closet. Items that are easy to get on and off are best! Elastic waistband pants and shorts and no buttons on shirts. We will take any clothing items that you donate though. If we do not use them, we will pass them on to others who can. |
